New Welcome Gift
Prime Digital Academy's remote full stack students are out a welcome gift. The traditional water bottle they would have received is now out of production, and it is up to us to develop a new gift concept. Our client identified that the old welcome gift was perceived as impersonal. From research to client pitch, we will create a more meaningful welcome gift using the power of UX.
Research
AEIOU
A qualitative behavioral analysis was performed by analyzing the full stack student's remote work environment using a plethora of short documentary videos to determine how the new gift should serve the student. Stress reduction was targeted as a result.
Heuristic Analysis
The research took into account the positive and negative attributes of the water bottle to inform the development of the new welcome gift. A significant danger to the student's computer equipment was identified, a mistake that would not be repeated.
New Gift Goals & Concept
To guide ideation on new gift concepts, our research and the client's desires were taken into account in developing a list of concept goals.
• Personal
• Desirable
• Relaxing
• No Risk to User
Out of three initial concepts, the winner was determined with ease in a Prime evaluation meeting:
Personalized Prime Pajama Pants.
Concept Evaluation
A low-fidelity prototype was developed, and remote full stack participants were recruited for fifteen-minute concept evaluations utilizing the desirability testing method and a short survey.

CLIENT PITCH
Stakeholders were presented with a barrage of research findings that supported all of the concept's goals. The results reflected an enhancement of personal importance and desirability, as initially requested. In the end, the need to begin the production of this new welcome gift was undeniable.
Conclusions
It is unfortunate that Prime full-stack students cannot receive their traditional gift. On the other hand, this has presented a terrific opportunity—an opportunity to design something more personal, less dangerous, and calming to the nerves—an opportunity to make our users happier than ever before.
